About Karnali Yaks
Karnali Yaks are a professional T20 franchise representing the remote and scenic Karnali Province in the Nepal Premier League. The team joined the league in the inaugural 2024 season after Himalayan Builders acquired the franchise rights.
Led by pace-bowling all-rounder Sompal Kami and coached by former Nepal captain Gyanendra Malla, the Yaks quickly built a reputation for their fighting spirit, disciplined bowling and flexible middle-order batting.
In the 2024 season, Karnali Yaks reached the playoff stage and showed that they can compete with the biggest teams in the league. With a strong mix of Nepali core players and impactful overseas signings, they are again one of the teams to watch in the NPL 2025 season.
