About Kathmandu Gorkhas
Kathmandu Gorkhas are the Kathmandu-based franchise of the Nepal Premier League, representing the capital city of Nepal. The franchise joined the league in the inaugural 2024 season and rebranded from “Kathmandu Gurkhas” to “Kathmandu Gorkhas” ahead of NPL Season 2 to better reflect a more Nepali-centric identity.
Owned by Kathmandu Sports Development Venture and led on the field by Karan KC, Kathmandu Gorkhas boast a strong core of Nepal internationals backed by high-impact overseas stars such as Rashid Khan and Gerhard Erasmus. With former Nepal national team head coach Monty Desai at the helm, the Gorkhas play an aggressive, fearless brand of T20 cricket and have quickly become one of the most followed teams in the league.
